Amongst our police restraints from China are some very special pieces, which cannot be found in other countries. Please note that the edges of these restraints are mostly less smooth than those of similar products from other countries. It seems that the comfort of prisoners does not really matter in China.

Here we have a very exquisite restraint. A so called fiddle made of aluminium, which can be locked by a bolt and a padlock in a way that a person wearing this restraint is not able to free himself even if he has the key. The neck collar has a height of 3 cm and an inner diameter of 12 cm. The wrist cuffs height is 1.9 cm, their inner diameter is 4.5 x 5.8 cm. The distance of neck and wrist cuffs is 17.5 cm. These restraints can be used in multifarious ways. They come with two padlocks and a 11 cm long connecting chain. But you can of course use a chain of any other length or you can use one chain for every cuff. You can also connect the cuffs to a belly chain or combine the handcuffs with the matching leg irons (see below) as a combination. Last but not least you can wear the cuffs without chains as an extravagant piece of jewellery. This restraint is chrome plated, all edges are perfectly smooth. These black handcuffs have some specials. They use a toothed wheel instead of a ratchet, which makes them more secure against shimming. The key-bid is also unusual - no standard key will open these handcuffs. The flat key-thorn is used for the non-common double lock. To double lock the handcuffs insert the key-thorn into the slot on the side of the lock case near the key hole and turn it in direction of the bow.

This nickel plated model closely resembles the famous American "H&R Super 123" handcuffs from the 1930s, a model which was very popular amongst FBI agents, because of its high security. The "H&R Super 123" is still considered as one of the most secure swing through handcuffs ever made. The horizontal diameter is quite small, so these cuffs do not fit to big wrist sizes. Please note that the black finish is not completely shielding, so that bare steel can be seen on some places.
